General Terms
- Santorini Helicopters, a Helicopter Tours and Private Charters Brand of AEGEANVIP Single Member Private Company established in Santorini, Greece (aegeanvip.com),does not undertake flight operations but provides a brokerage and booking service on behalf of AEGEANVIP to several operators.
- All Sightseeing, Day Trips, Private Charter and Experience flights will be undertaken by CAA certified operators such as, Air Operators Certificate (AOC) holders and Approved Training Organizations.
- Flights are subject to weather conditions and helicopter serviceability and as a result, flights are subject to cancellation at short notice. Santorini Helicopters and subsequently AEGEANVIP Single Member Private Company will not be held responsible for the costs of travel, accommodation or any other associated costs should your flight be cancelled for any reason, including aircraft non-serviceability or poor weather or generally due to any operational circumstances.
- All participants should ensure that they are in good health and if in doubt should seek the medical advice of their general practitioner.
- Passengers should arrive approx. 15 minutes before the flight, to receive a quick flight briefing. Please be aware – if you’re late – we can’t wait!!
- All quoted flight times or durations and routes are approximate and may vary on the day of the flight due to volume of air traffic or other operational reasons.
- The advertised flight route may be altered due to airspace restrictions imposed by Air Traffic Control, or for unforeseen circumstances outside our control.
- The Helicopter Operator reserves the right to alter any take-off location at its discretion due to operational circumstances.
- Whilst every precaution is taken for the safety of passengers, neither the owner/operator of the aircraft nor Santorini Helicopters (AEGEANVIP Single Member Private Company) can be held liable for loss, damage or injury which does not result from their negligence.
Identification and security control
All passengers boarding Air Transfer Operator* (ATO) aircraft shall present their passport or ID when requested. The Captain reserves the right to scan the passengers and/or luggage using a metal detector if he deems necessary to do so. Refusal or failure to present identification documents may lead to a cancelation of the flight and no refund shall be made. ATO or Captain reserves the right to deny boarding to any passenger(s) that seems to be or is acting as if he/she is intoxicated or drunk or refusing to present proper identification and travel documents or accept the usual security controls. In case ATO or Captain denies boarding under such circumstances no refund will be made to the customer.
Procedure and payment of the flight
Customers are encouraged to visit either Santorini Helicopters website (www.santorinihelicopters.com) or AEGEANVIP Single Member Private Company website (www.aegeanvip.com) and find all necessary information on the company, on flights and helicopters, on how to book a flight or request a quotation, by filling a specific online form. If they so wish, customers may also contact Santorini Helicopter’s representative and ask for a specific quotation, depending on where they need to go, how and when. An experienced Travel Experiences Advisor will then consult with them and come up with the appropriate Tour, Experience, Day Trip or Private Helicopter Charter at the best available price.
All contacts and transactions from the initial request of information to the final flight booking and payment can be effectuated online. Forms are filled out and signed electronically, confirmation is received after checking availability with Heli Operators.
Final quotations are all inclusive. Prices include flight cost, all kinds of VAT or airport taxes, handling fees, full insurance coverage, according to European Union Regulation 785/2004 etc. Quotations may be given alternatively by phone but need to be immediately confirmed in writing, by e-mail or Instant Messaging apps.
Customers are expected to confirm their acceptance also in writing, by filling and signing the electronic form provided and by transferring their payment requested by bank wire transfer, credit card, PayPal or cash. Flight confirmation shall be given only when the funds are traced to the company’s bank account and the customer has accepted our terms and conditions by signing the appropriate document.
Quotations for helicopter flights usually refer to one-way trips. Customers should clarify whether they are interested in booking a return trip and be prepared to acknowledge the cost of Extra Chargessuch as aircraft waitingand/or hotel accommodation for the crew if it is deemed necessary, overnight charges, additional flight crew, VIP service, particular meal requirements etc.Customers are encouraged to ask Santorini Helicopters representatives by phone or e-mail about all possible extra charges. Waiting time and overnight charges are only applicable when the same passengers are on board both legs.
In case of less flight or aircraft waiting time than initially estimated, no refunds are made.
Other itinerary changes, such as more flight and aircraft waiting time, passengers missing scheduled boarding time or change of destination during flight, are subject to helicopter and crew availability and additional charges. Payment of additional charges is expected to be made before the continuation of the flight.
In case the customer is unable to commit to the current schedule and the aircraft is scheduled for another flight, the aircraft shall depart empty and no refunds shall be made.
Cancelation Policy
In case of cancellations by a customer more than or up to 72 hours prior to departure a full refund shall be given. In case of cancellations of less than 72 hours prior to flight departure time, any deposit amount or a full prepayment amount is NON-refundable. In case of no-show-up on time or a no-show-up at all like agreed accordingly upon flight confirmation, the rights for the flight expire and there is no further right of a refund or any kind of compensation. If a flight is cancelled or delayed due to weather or an unexpected restriction from the authorities the customer is entitled to a full refund unless he wishes to reschedule.
If a customer wishes to reschedule a flight, this is basically free of charge. If a reschedule is not possible – for whatever reason – the fees shown at “flight cancelled by client” are applicable.Once a flight has departed and the customer wishes to either cancel the flight or return back no refunds will be made.Any change of the Itinerary or values of the confirmation by the client might cause in loss of the right for the flight without any refund. (Especially weight limitations and baggage dimensions)
Weight Limitations/Baggage
All helicopters are subject to weight limitations for passengers and baggage. Customers are obliged to provide ATO all passengers’ names and actual weights as well as baggage weights and dimensions (if required) before the commencement of the flight. Flight confirmations sent are based on these weights and the customer is obliged to inform ATO for any change. ATO reserves the right to deny performing a flight where a weight limitation exceedance is noted or when the baggage is overweight and/or oversized and cannot safely fit inside the aircraft’s baggage compartment. ATO provides detailed baggage compartment dimensions for all its aircraft as well as detailed specifications. In case ATO can offer a larger aircraft for the flight requested due to weight limitations the flight is subject to additional charges.
Customer agrees beyond any doubt that the commander of the aircraft has the full authority to deny the loading of baggage, or even the aboard of the flight permanently, in case of baggage volume or weight could compromise the safety of the flight.
Flight Upgrades/Aircraft Change
ATO reserves the right to upgrade the customer to fly with a larger aircraft at no extra charge but the customer will be informed for the change.
If ATO downgrades the customer (fly with a smaller aircraft than the one requested), due to technical reasons etc. the customer shall be refunded the price difference (if any) and the change will be agreed between the customer and ATO prior to the commencement of the flight. In case the customer does not accept a downgrade he shall receive a full refund from ATO.

APPENDIX 1 (List of prohibited objects)
With prejudice to the existing cabin safety regulations, passengers are not allowed to bring to above objects to security restricted areas and the cabin of the aircraft.
- arms, firearms and other devices capable or which appear likely to cause severe injuries, such as:
-every kind of firearms’ pistols, revolvers, rifle shots, carbines, gun games, copies and imitations of firearms, perceived as real guns.
– parts of firearms,apart from optical sights,weapons which operate with compressed air and CO2, like pistols,pellet guns,rifles and all arms flying spheres.
– sprinkles, flare pistols and starters.
– bows,crossbows and arrows.
– harpoon and snorkeling equipment.
– catapults. - paralysis devices-devices designed to cause paralysis or immobilization,such as:
– shocking devices,like stun weapons, electroshock weapons and bars.
– bloodless stun and killing animal devices.
– chemical substances, gasses, and sprays for neutralization and immobilization, like neutralization gasses, pepper sprays and animal repellent sprays. - objects with sharp point or sharp edge,capable to cause severe injury,such as:
– cutting articles,like small and big axes and cleavers.
-icepicks and icebreakers
– incisors
– razor blades
– knives with blades larger than 6cm
– scissors with blades longer than 6 cm from the connection point.
– objects of martial arts with sharp point or sharp edge.
– swords.
- professional tools-tools capable of causing severe injury or to threaten the safety of the aircraft, such as:
– crowbars
– drills and drill bits or portable electric drills
– tools with blades,with the strain length exceeding 6cm,which can be used as weapons,like screwdrivers and chisels.
-saws and wireless electric saws.
– stoves
– pistols bolting and reverting
e.tools with sharp edges, capable of causing severe injury when used aggressively, such as:
– baseball and softball bats.
– bats and rods,like police batons, safety batons and rods
– martial arts equipment
- explosives and incendiary materials and devices, capable or to seem likely to be used in order to cause severe injury or to threaten the safety of the aircraft, such as:
– ammunitions
– capsules
– detonators
– blasting wicks
-replicas or imitations of explosive devices
– mines,grenades and other military explosives
– fireworks and other pyrotechnics
– fumigant cans and cartridges
– dynamite,powder and plastic explosives. - liquids,aerosols,gels, unless they are screened with LEDS equipment,according to the relevant procedures that apply to airport or as an exemption from safety controls,according to the present regulations.
